This a big question! I haven’t planned that far ahead to be honest. I was to get good at my job and as long as engineering is challenging and exciting, I don’t see why I would not be doing it in 10 years.

My overall life objective is to have fun and inspire and help other people, so my career has to fit in with that.

Everyone is different, and being relatively new (4 years) I’m still not sure where I see myself in 10 years… although probably will still be in engineering – and in an engineering role!

Some people chose to go into more project management type roles, and some people like to specialise… I might even change industry again! Who knows! As Yasmin says… as long as your having fun doing it, all is well in the world!

Hi @116enec32 – Yes, I see myself working in engineering in 10 years time. My career objective is to be one of the world’s experts in advanced tools for engineering simulation.

Now your asking….if I start by looking back ten years, I would never have been able to guess that I would be doing what I am doing today. So I don’t think I’d have much luck predicting the next ten years. I love my job and will always be an engineer but there are so many opportunities in this career it’s difficult to know what I’ll be doing next year, let alone 10 years from now.
