• Question: Did you try other jobs and careers before becoming an engineer

      I had a job as a care assistant at an old people’s home when I was doing my A-levels. I also had a job as a charity shop supervisor… had a couple of summer jobs too, like flyering for a comedy club and working on the door at Edinburgh festival. That was a lot of fun!

      I worked in catering while in Uni and had a placement with Lufthansa Airmotive. Testing jet engines in huge wind tunnel really focused my mind on a career in engineering.

      @megz_rose – I tried many jobs before I became an engineer, including landscape gardener, handmade sausage salesman and part-time teacher in a school for the disabled.
