      In the UK, there are very strict regulations regarding how nuclear power stations are run, monitored and serviced. They do not release pollution into the air and really are very safe.

      Yes, there have been accidents – in Russia in the 1980s and recently in Japan due to a tsunami. Accidents are very rare and each one is studied very carefully to improve the designs and safety of future reactors.
