Yes I do, sometimes it’s difficult to see the connection between science and maths and real life. Engineering shows you the application of science and maths… so if students did more of it at school, it would make it easier to understand why science and maths are important.

I did not know what engineering was until I went to University – so I didn’t think for one second about engineering as a career. I think that engineering does not need to be a subject in its own right. I do believe that the school curriculum could bring a bit more engineering into subjects like maths, physics and chemistry. As well as letting people find out about engineering, it might also make maths, physics and chemistry a bit more interesting by showing practical examples of how those subjects are used in real life.
