I work to provide energy for everyone. That’s energy to make electricity to power lights, heating, phones, hospitals, cinemas… etc. I want to work to make more efficient energy systems that are better for the environment.

      Hi Luren,

I work in renewable energy so I’d like to think my work will, in some small way, lead us to a zero carbon future. Specifically, I want to see more uptake of distributed power (solar panels on roofs etc) and one of my challenges is to make it more efficient and more affordable.

I train the engineers of the future! The University of Manchester has one of the best schools of engineering in the world and our students come from all over the planet.

My research is into future simulation and modelling tools for carbon-free energy generation! Saving the planet from global warming.
