If you are interested in Maths and Science, but prefer to do “practical” things rather than study “theory”, then engineering is the perfect choice of career. Engineering uses Maths and Science to solve problems in the real world and you get to stand back and admire the structures or machines you built.

I would recommend considering it for sure. I’m sure it’s not for everyone, but I think lots of people who would enjoy it never even consider it as a career. It’s really varied so if you’re interested in how things work and the world around you, it’s an awesome job to have!

Yes – I recommend it! It’s a very interesting career and very rewarding!

I recommend it because you get to combine knowledge and creativity; this is done best in a team! I personally enjoy the whole design process from concept generation and background research to calculations and drawings – to having those drawings realised and you get to see/feel/test/play with your design.

The whole process is very involved! But it is also very varied as you can work in so many different fields – from energy, to bio-engineering, civil, chemical, food…and the list goes on.

Sales pitch over! Go for it! Enjoy!
