I’ve been working for 5 years and the work load has always been alright. At the moment it goes it waves – some weeks it’s very busy, others it’s quiet. I am always done with work by about 6pm, and always have the weekends off :).

I think I have a pretty heavy workload but it’s probably of my own making. As an academic, I am allocated a certain amount of teaching and administration….but other than that I feel like an entrepreneur. I take on projects that interest me and where I think I can contribute. So this often means having several projects running simultaneously, so late nights, working weekends etc is not unusual.

That said, it doesn’t feel like work when you enjoy it 🙂

Hi @bobbaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy ;] , my workplace is very chaotic, with many different demands being placed on people’s time. The key to coping with a demanding work environment is to prioritize, spending more time on the things that really matter.

      Hi Bobbaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy ;]

I work in a consultancy environment, which is a bit different from the other guys here (I think!)

My work is extremely varied! So one week, I can be really busy, and the following week things are a bit easier. I’ve never not had work… there is always something to do! Generally over my 4 years experience, I’ve been kept pretty busy all the time! But we do have our quiet spells… they sound great… but I much prefer to be flat out… days go quicker when you have your head into a bit of exciting work! (Which means it feels like less time till the weekend! :))
